Random Hate: Unrest in Egypt

The situation in Egypt has erupted into chaos. There seems to be a lot of fear mongering going on, and American media agencies are worried about their own interests, and have put the same old American spin on the situation. Completely ignore the bullshit cable MSM in the United States. You want the real scoop?

Al Jazeera English Live Stream

I have been watching and listening for days now, and I have to say that Al Jazeera really has it right.
The reporters are actually trying to get clear concise data on who is doing what down there.

The main focus right now is Cairo. Shit is CRAZY right now in Tahrir Square.

The march of millions was originally a peaceful march and protest. It seems that “pro-mubarak” protesters sparked violence by marching on the square and attacking the peaceful protesters.

Well surprise, surprise, the “pro-mubarak” protesters are undercover police intentionally sent to spark unrest and violence. It seems they’ve succeeded.

The Egyptian Army has sided with the people and have said the people’s demands are legitimate and just.
The army has been trying to quell the unrest and stop the bloodshed. I salute them, it’s not easy to get between two warring factions and walk away unhurt. They are trying to get those sparking the violence to leave.

Egyptian army moves between rival camps in Cairo

I wish the anti-mubarak protesters luck. I hope the bloodshed ends and reform begins. Egypt, make the world proud. Make the warmongers fear you. The power is always with the people, even if they don’t realize it.

A ‘No’ uttered from the deepest conviction is better than a ‘Yes’ merely uttered to please, or worse, to avoid trouble. ~Mohandas Gandhi

It seems I left out some information in my haste last night.
The Mubarak government shut down ALL mobile phone and internet service in Egypt a few days ago.
The internet has been steadily returning in Egypt, thankfully, and the people are able to communicate with the outside world again. Huzzah!

However, this sent a chill down my spine…

Mobile phone firm Vodafone has accused the Egyptian authorities of using its network to send unattributed text messages supporting the government.

This is sickening propaganda and a slap in the face. Hopefully Vodafone fights back.

Random Hate: US Propaganda against Wikileaks.

Alright, so if you have read my previous post, I talk about Wikileaks and the embassy cables that are being leaked. The United States government is fighting a fierce propaganda campaign against Wikileaks now.

I was watching CNN this morning, and there was a White House press conference where they condemned Wikileaks publicly for putting lives at jeopardy, and sabotaging relations with other nations.

What a load of bullshit. The smell of propaganda is strong today. Wikileaks got in touch with the US Embassy trying to get the US to redact important information that would put lives at risk. The US refused to even talk about the documents, much less try and do damage control and “save lives” if it was such a huge risk.

Article here

Am I alone here in smelling the bullshit?

The Wikileaks website is supposedly being DoS’s (Denial Of Service) by a patriot hacker known as th3j35t3r using his tool XerXes. Now, I haven’t really heard much about this but it’s plausible. Patriot hackers are known in countries like China and cause massive damage if aimed correctly. I’m sure th3j35t3r is a nice guy, supposedly an ex marine back from the war. I can get behind the idea of DoSing jihadist websites, however to go after Wikileaks is cowardly. It is in direct conflict with free speech.

Shame on you, patriot. Wave your little flag any harder and it may break. The US was given a chance to redact information from the leaked documents beforehand, time and time again. Your beloved government refused. Ever heard the saying “Don’t shoot the messenger”?

Aside from that, the information is out there and it won’t be stopped now.

Cable torrent and this is just one of many. You can’t stop the dissemination of this information. Mirror after Mirror will pop up and unless you used a distributed attack you can’t take it all down. And you most certainly can’t take it all down at once.

I am, like always, disappointed in my government for this massive disdain for information and freedom of speech. And now, we have idiots calling for Wikileaks to be labelled a “foreign terrorist organzation”. We are treading a very slippery path here. If we are to deem a website and it’s founders terrorists for speech (and yes journalism is protect speech in the US) what is stopping us from turning into Nazi Germany?

Random Hate: The Wikileaks Situation

“If information and knowledge are central to democracy, they are the conditions for development.” ~ Kofi Annan – Ghanaian diplomat, seventh secretary-general of the United Nations, 2001 Nobel Peace Prize.

Wikileaks is a name being passed around a lot lately. Both good and bad comments are being made about this website. Personally, I think this website is amazing. Wikileaks is absolutely essential to the continued survival of free information and sheds light on very important issues concerning the entire world.

Yes, lately Wikileaks has been focusing on the wars being waged by the United States in Iraq and Afghanistan. The spark for this was the video Collateral Murder which was highly publicized after being published by Wikileaks. I’ve heard arguments that this is for political gain, and to put pressure on the US to end their invasions. This is a valid argument and I’m not going to refute it, but I think we need a little more proof. The US government now has a Private Bradley Manning in custody claiming he was responsible for the release of this video and much more. Story Here

The US government has condemned Wikileaks publicly. Wikileaks responded by publishing over 400,000 documents relating to the US invasions. Warlogs
Threats against Assange, the chief editor of Wikileaks, have begun to surface. Now, there’s been an arrest warrant issued in Sweden for rape and sexual assault. What timing on that arrest warrant, totally not suspicious at all. Article here

Things have begun to heat up even more. Wikileaks is planning to release more documents this weekend.
These documents concern various dealings with the United States. “Cables”, or email documents, between US Diplomats and other nations. Documents showing Turkey assisting al-Qaeda in Iraq. And much more which we’ll find out when the documents are released.

Canada braces for document release

US Warns allies about upcoming Wikileaks release

Well, today Wikileaks posted a very cryptic message on their Twitter account, which has been known to happen. This message has a link to a torrent file hosted on The Pirate Bay.
Taken from http://twitter.com/wikileaks:
“Now is a good time to download some “history insurance” https://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5723136/WikiLeaks_insurance”

The file is 1.4 gigs in size and is AES256 encrypted. I can only imagine the contents of that file, named insurance.aes256, but 1.4 gigs worth of documents is quite a bit. It seems this file is Insurance against the US government should something happen to Wikileaks. I imagine the encryption key would be posted, allowing the public to see some very dirty secrets that would damage the US greatly. There have been attempts to crack the encryption but that’s wishful thinking. We’ll have to wait and see though.

And this is all just the tip of the iceberg. There is a ton of information out there concerning Wikileaks and the US governments current affairs. Read up and decide for yourselves. Spread the information, and help put pressure on the US government for their war crimes and aggressive invasions.

Random Hate: The TSA (Transportation Security Administration)

Today, I’m going to target the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) for my rant.
Pardon me beforehand, because I tend to trail off when I rant. So, my posts may be unorganized and maybe downright insane.

Here we go:

“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” ~ Benjamin Franklin

Citizens of the United States have become lazy and complacent. Of course this has been happening for a long time now, however since September 11th we accelerated the process and have gone completely fucking mad.

So now, to fly, you have the choice between Backscatter full-body scans, or an “enhanced” pat-down. The Full-Body scans show detailed images of your entire naked body to the machine operator. Enhanced pat-downs are basically sexual assault. If you wear baggy clothing, the TSA screener actually puts their hands INSIDE your clothing and feels against your skin.  They feel your genitals as well. Oh, and they’re not using the backs of their hands. The screeners are using the fronts, palms and fingers, to do the searching.

Lets look at the requirements for being a screener.

Requirements: All candidates for Transportation Security Screener must have:

  • Proof of U.S. citizenship
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent; OR
  • At least one year of full-time work experience in security work or aviation screener work; or with x-ray technician work.

So, we’re going to allow someone, with no qualification, some random person to see us completely nude, or grope our genitals? For what, a little temporary safety? What safety? The TSA hasn’t stopped a single terrorist attack.

And should you manage to get through the first part of the screening, but decide to back out? The TSA threatens you with arrest and a $11,000 fine. They claim this is to deter terrorists from backing out once they’ve begun the screening. So, we’re to believe that a “terrorist” who plans to die would be scared of a fine in a country they don’t live in?

Enough about that. Instead, lets talk about Michael Chertoff.
Chertoff is the 2nd Secretary of Homeland Security. Chertoff is also the co-author of The Patriot Act. After leaving his glorious post in the US Government, he co-founded The Chertoff Group, a security consultant group.

Taken from Wikipedia: “Chertoff has been an advocate of full body scanners at airports. In 2010 it emerged that Rapiscan Systems, a manufacturer of this technology, was a client of his security consulting firm, the Chertoff Group.”

So here, we have a man heading the security of our nation, who obviously just wants to line his pockets at the expense of the citizens. Just being a co-author of the Patriot Act makes this man a bastard. However he takes it much further, and wants you to submit to more blatant violations of the 4th amendment of the United States Constitution.

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

Now that you have an idea of what the Top Dog is like, let’s go back to the peons.

TSA uses “enhanced” pat-down on young boy:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSQTz1bccL4

This is being called a strip search, but it’s really not. According to the description of the video it was the father who removed the boy’s shirt in frustration.

“Lets get the facts straight first. Before the video started the boy went through a metal detector and didn’t set it off but was selected for a pat down. The boy was shy so the TSA couldn’t complete the full pat on the young boy. The father tried several times to just hold the boys arms out for the TSA agent but i guess it didn’t end up being enough for the guy. I was about 30 ft away so i couldn’t hear their conversation if there was any. The enraged father pulled his son shirt off and gave it to the TSA agent to search, thats when this video begins. ”

TSA screener exposes womans breasts, other screeners joke about it:

This one is a bit old, but obviously relevant. A woman had her breasts exposed to the entire airport, and other screeners joke about missing it, and how they’ll just watch the security footage later. Sickening.

Also a bit old, but still relevant.

TSA behavior detection officer kidnaps, rapes woman before attempting suicide: http://www.boingboing.net/2010/11/23/tsa-behavior-detecti-1.html

Over and over again, we allow strangers to violate our persons and property just so we can fly somewhere. Do you see what I mean when I say US citizens have become lazy and complacent?
Stand up for yourself and your rights! Nobody is going to do it for you.

Opt out of the full-body scans! Refuse to be groped! If you do not consent to a search it is unlawful for the screener to put their hands on you without a warrant! Read the article I’m linking below, it can be done!
